A Daily Practice in Memories of a Lived Experience: Bridging Pune and New York City

This artwork explores how lived experience and memory shape the perception and representation of space. Drawing on Henri Lefebvre’s concept of ‘representational space’, it engages with space as directly experienced through images, symbols, and imagination.

Situated within Pune’s rapid urban transformation, the series traces a personal journey of moving from New York City to Pune through five paintings. Using vivid colours and abstract forms, the works reflect themes of urban nature, transition, and identity, collectively narrating a decade-long experience of change across both personal and urban landscapes.
